Tom Donahue is a real estate expert and entrepreneur. He is the Founder and CEO of Alumni Alliances and is responsible for funding, strategy and capital markets. He is also the CEO of True North Companies LLC. After graduating from USC with a B.S., specializing in Real Estate Finance, Tom took a job working for TOLD Real Estate Development Co. and was then recruited as a member of Grubb & Ellis Real Estate Company’s elite office brokerage team.
At the age of 30, he set up AzCal, a commercial real estate brokerage company, that grew into an international real estate private equity company called International Capital Partners. During this period, he raised capital worldwide for the acquisition and development of U.S. based real estate and managed more than 10 Million Sq.ft. of property. Together with Deloitte & Touche (Edinburgh, Scotland), he formed the first investment platform that enabled on-shore capital in the United Kingdom to be invested in real estate in the United States.
At USC, Tom was elected as the President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. His love and loyalty towards his alma mater is the driving factor towards starting Alumni Alliances, a platform that will unite alumni and students of USC. Tom’s endeavor is to form a unique investment strategy, by bringing alumni and students of USC together, and equipping them with a philanthropic approach to withstand today’s complex economic climate. “It’s all about how alumni and graduates can work and succeed together.”
